Abstract
THE INTERVIEWS WERE PART OF A PROJECT AIMED AT GAINING INFORMATION ON LOCAL EXPERIENCES IN STANDARDS AND GOALS DEVELOPMENT. PARTICIPATING IN THE PROJECT WERE PLANNING AGENCIES IN TOLEDO, OHIO; MILWAUKEE, WIS.; PROVO, UTAH; SALEM, OREG.; CORVALLIS, OREG.; VENTURA COUNTY, CALIF.; AND DADE COUNTY, FLA. EACH SET OF SUMMARIES BEGINS WITH THE PLANNING DIRECTOR'S INTERVIEW, WHICH GENERALLY PROVIDES INFORMATION ON HOW THE JURISDICTION FIRST BECAME INVOLVED IN STANDARDS AND GOALS DEVELOPMENT, THE NATURE OF CRIME AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION IN THE JURISDICTION, HOW THE STANDARDS AND GOALS EFFORT WAS ORGANIZED, AND HOW THE PROCESS WORKED. SUBSEQUENT SUMMARIES DESCRIBE HOW VARIOUS PARTICIPANTS BECAME INVOLVED IN THE STANDARDS AND GOALS PROCESS AND HOW THEY VIEW THE EFFORT. COPIES OF INTERVIEW GUIDES ARE APPENDED.
