THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL POLICE ORGANIZATION (INTERPOL) PRESENTS TABULAR AND TEXTUAL DRUG SEIZURE REPORTS FOR 52 COUNTRIES FOR 1967.
Abstract
TABULAR DATA DEPICT THE QUANTITIES (GRAMS) AND NUMBER OF SEIZURES PER COUNTRY AND GEOGRAPHICAL REGION AND THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IMPLICATED BY COUNTRY AND REGION FOR THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: RAW AND PREPARED OPIUM, MORPHINE, DIACETYLMORPHINE, COCAINE, CANNABIS, OTHER NATURAL DRUGS AND THEIR DERIVATIVES, SYNTHETIC NARCOTICS DRUGS, AND FOR SUBSTANCES NOT SUBJECT TO INTERNATIONAL CONTROL. FOR EACH CATEGORY, GENERAL REMARKS INDICATE THE COUNTRY WITH THE LARGEST NUMBER OF SEIZURES, THE METHOD OF TRANSPORT, OR OTHER SUCH INFORMATION. FURTHER ANALYSIS OF INFORMATION IS BROKEN DOWN BY GEOGRAPHICAL AREA, SHOWING TRENDS IN SUCH AREAS AS TRAFFICKING, SEIZURES, SUPPLY POINTS, AND TRADEMARKS. SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF INTERNATIONAL POLICE COOPERATION ARE REPORTED, SHOWING CONCERTED ATTEMPTS TO CURB TRAFFICKING ACTIVITY. RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED BY INTERPOL AND OTHER INTERPOL EVENTS AND ACTIVITY ARE LISTED, AS ARE THE NUMBER OF COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVED AND SENT OUT BY THE GENERAL SECRETARIAT BY COUNTRY OR TERRITORY. (MHP)
