Abstract
METHODS ENUMERATED FOR COMBATTING TERRORISM INCLUDE ORGANIZATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EXPANSION OF SECURITY AGENCIES, IMPROVED COOPERATION BETWEEN THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS, INCREASED LEGAL REGULATIONS FOR VARIOUS SECTORS, DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL ANTITERRORISM STRATEGY, AND RESEARCH AND DISCUSSION ON TERRORISM. POLICIES ON PROTECTION OF THE CONSTITUTION ARE STATED AS ANSWERS BY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO SPECIFIC QUESTIONS OF CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES. THE QUESTIONS RELATED TO TREATMENT OF ORTHODOX COMMUNISTS, THE DISARMAMENT COMMITTEE, THE RUSSELL TRIBUNAL, INTELLIGENCE GATHERING BY COMMUNIST NEWS AGENCIES AND PREVENTION OF SUCH ACTIVITIES, THE CONCEPT OF 'MASS ORIENTATION' BY TERRORIST REVOLUTIONARIES, COOPERATION BETWEEN GERMAN AND PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS, TERRORIST ACTIVITIES OF THE RADICAL RIGHT, AND MEASURES AGAINST VARIOUS NEO-NAZI ORGANIZATIONS. REPORTS ON CRIME PREVENTION EFFORTS DESCRIBE THE COLLABORATION OF FRENCH AND GERMAN BORDER AUTHORITIES, INCLUDING THE TEXT OF A FRENCH-GERMAN AGREEMENT ON THE SUBJECT; THE MISTAKES OF THE POLICE IN ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE THE HIDING PLACE OF HANNS MARTIN SCHLEYER; THE POLICE INFORMATION SYSTEM, WITH PROPOSALS FOR MODIFICATION; IDENTIFICATION CARDS WHICH CANNOT BE FORGED; LAWS ON MORE STRINGENT GUN CONTROLS; BANK SECURITY; CAUSES OF JUVENILE CRIME; AND PREVENTION OF CHECK AND USED-CAR FRAUD. FINALLY, MEASURES TO GUARD BORDERS MORE CAREFULLY ARE ELUCIDATED IN A QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION BETWEEN THE INTERIOR MINISTER AND A LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVE. STATISTICAL INFORMATION ON INCREASED NUMBERS, TRAINING, HOUSING, AND EQUIPMENT OF THE WEST GERMAN BORDER PATROL ARE PRESENTED. --IN GERMAN. (KMD)
