Abstract

THE ADVANCED INDIVIDUAL TRAINING PROGRAM IS AN INSERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO REINFORCE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED BY DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL TO PROVIDE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. THE SEVEN AREAS STRESSED IN THE CURRICULUM - DEFENSIVE TACTICS, DRIVER TRAINING AND PURSUIT DEVELOPMENT, LAW TECHNOLOGY, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT, EMERGENCY CARE, FIREARMS, AND CHEMICAL AGENTS WERE SELECTED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION WHICH IS VALUABLE TO ALL DIVISIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT DISCUSSIONS OF COST AND INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN AND METHODS ARE ALSO INCLUDED.
