Abstract
TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF CRIME THROUGHOUT THE STATE; THE PROGRAM AIMS TO CARRY OUT A CITIZEN EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAM ON PREVENTING SPECIFIC TYPES OF PERSONAL AND PROPERTY CRIMES, INVOLVING THE ORGANIZATION OF ADULTS AND YOUTH GROUPS IN CRIME PREVENTION ACTIVITIES, AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF CRIME PREVENTION CAPABILITIES THROUGH LEGISLATIVE CHANGES AND COMMUNITY PLANNING. TOPICS DISCUSSED INCLUDE GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNITY CRIME PREVENTION COMMITTES, SELECTED CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAMS, THE CRIME PREVENTION UNIT, PHYSICAL PLANNING, CRIME TRAP/OPERATION IDENTIFICATION, AND NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT. THE MANUAL ALSO DISCUSSES NEW PROGRAMS, SUCH AS THE COMMUNITY RADIO WATCH, FINANCIAL INSTITUTION BUNCO PREVENTION, BICYCLE SECURITY, COMMERCIAL ROBBERY PREVENTION, AND VACATION PREMISES CHECKS.
