ONE OF A SERIES OF DOCUMENTS REFLECTING THE RESULTS OF A RESURVEY OF IOWA RESIDENTS ORIGINALLY CONTACTED IN 1974 TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF DRUG USE AND EXISTING ATTITUDES AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DRUGS WITHIN THE STATE.
Abstract
THE RESURVEY WAS CONDUCTED TO ASSESS HOW THE USE OF DRUGS HAS CHANGED AND WHAT CURRENT ATTITUDES TOWARD DRUG ABUSE ARE, TWO YEARS AFTER THE ORIGINAL SURVEY. IN THIS STUDY AMONG URBAN AND RURAL POPULATION GROUPS TO LEARN THE INCIDENCE AND PREVALENCE OF SUBSTANCE USE AND MISUSE OF SUBSTANCES AND ASSESS ASSOCIATED ATTITUDES AND PROBLEMS AND TO DETERMINE THE EXISTENCE AND SIZE OF A DRUG USE SUBCULTURE, LESS THAN HALF OF THE RESURVEY QUESTIONNAIRES WERE RETURNED. APPENDIXES CONTAIN COPIES OF THE DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENTS USED AND ACCOMPANYING COVER LETTERS. FOR THE RESULTS OF THE ENTIRE RESURVEY, SEE NCJ-35529 THROUGH NCJ-35533. FOR A SUMMARY OF THE ORIGINAL SURVEY, SEE NCJ-35534.
