THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS A SEQUENCE OF SEVEN STEPS AS THE MINIMUM NECESSARY TO CONSTITUTE A STANDARD OF PROCEDURE IN INDIVIDUAL CASE STUDY AND MANAGEMENT.
Abstract
PRIOR TO DELINEATING THESE STEPS, HE DISCUSSES SEVERAL TERMS WHOSE USAGE IS INEVITABLE IN THE CORRECTIONAL RESEARCH FIELD, BUT WHOSE ORIGINAL MEANING IS IN DANGER OF BEING LOST DUE TO UNWARRANTED FLEXIBILITY AND/OR IMPROPER USE. THESE TERMS ARE 'DELINQUENCY', 'DEFINITION', 'DIAGNOSIS', 'TREATMENT', AND 'EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED'.
