THIS COMMUNICATIONS PLANNING STUDY WAS MADE FOR THE IMPERIAL COUNTY (CA) SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, WHOSE 150 PERSONNEL SERVE 80,000 PERSONS ON 4,500 SQUARE MILES, AND IS DATED NOVEMBER, 1976.
Abstract
POLICE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE COUNTY ARE HAMPERED BY THE EXTREMES OF TOPOGRAPHY WHICH RANGE FROM SUB-SEA LEVEL DESERT VALLEYS TO MOUNTAINOUS AREAS ON THE EAST AND WEST. THIS STUDY FOUND THE PRESENT POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM INADEQUATE. RECOMMENDATIONS CALL FOR A MASTER TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLAN TO ASSURE PROPER INTERFACE IN THE FUTURE FOR ALL PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES IN IMPERIAL COUNTY.
