This is a thesaurus of keywords relating to the non-medical use of drugs and drug dependence.
Abstract
The list is a compilation of descriptors or keywords used in Inter-American Drug Information System (IADIS) databases. The CD-ROM consists of five common databases, each with a different type of information and covers a time period approximately from 1980-1997: (1) monographic, serial and audio-visual information; (2) more ephemeral material such as leaflets and press clippings; (3) data of a referential nature, including information on institutions working on drug-related issues; (4) attempts to serve chiefly researchers of the Americas interested in keeping abreast of projects and research underway in the prevention and control of illicit drugs; and (5) encompasses laws, decrees and regulations, principally of a national character, which pertain to various issues related to illicit drugs. A supplement to the fifth database includes additional material from Colombia and Nicaragua.
