Abstract
CORRECTIONAL FUNCTIONS AND TECHNIQUES IN 1870 ARE EXAMINED AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORE HUMANITARIAN METHODS OF REHABILITATION DISCUSSED. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMUNITY BASED AND JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL PROGRAMS IS REVIEWED. SUGGESTIONS FOR RESEARCH RELATED TO THE COMPILATION AND EVALUATION OF CORRECTIONS STATISTICS ARE SET FORTH.
