The 1989 program of the Humberside (U.K.) police included three priorities: to form an effective partnership between the police and the public, involving statutory, voluntary, and private sector organizations; to pursue high professional standards; and to effectively use all available resources.
Abstract
This report describes the operations of the Humberside police force. The Internal Affairs section of the report discusses performance monitoring, discipline and complaints, information technology, communications, and research. Management services covered community relations, criminal justice, personnel issues, policy coordination, and resource management. Finance and support services as well as specialist services are dealt with in the report. The final section, on operations, describes crime analysis, crime operations, crime support, maintenance of public order, traffic policing, operations support, and various police divisions. 12 appendixes.
