In Honolulu, the number of Crime Index offenses during 1982 showed an increase of 2.1 percent from the previous year. As a group, the violent crimes increased by 9.5 percent over 1981. Property crimes increased by 1.8 percent over 1981.
Abstract
The report discusses the organization of the Honolulu Police Department; crime trends; law enforcement concerning drugs, prostitution, cockfighting, and truancy; steps to ensure the safety of military personnel; community affairs activities (juvenile delinquency prevention programs, rape prevention, youth groups, Neighborhood Security Watch, etc.); and technology and equipment innovations.
