Abstract
THE BASIC GOALS OF THE HANDS UP PROGRAM ARE TO INCREASE NATIONAL AWARENESS OF THE CITIZEN'S ROLE IN CRIME REDUCTION AND TO ENCOURAGE THE FORMATION OF LOCAL ACTION GROUPS CHARGED WITH DEVELOPING AND ACTING UPON RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS TO CRIME PROBLEMS. THE MATERIAL IN THIS BOOKLET PROVIDES GUIDANCE IN THE STRUCTURING AND EVALUATION OF HANDS UP CRIME REDUCTION ACTIVITIES. A BASIC METHODOLOGY FOR PROJECT STRUCTURING AND EVALUATION IS PRESENTED ALONG WITH SOME DISCUSSION OF EXAMPLES. A GLOSSARY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACTIVITY EVALUATION TERMS IS INCLUDED.
