EVALUATION OF THIS TREATMENT-ORIENTED GROUP HOME FOR ADOLESCENT GIRLS WHICH PROVIDES A COMBINATION OF THERAPEUTIC GROUP LIVING AND A BALANCE OF GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL TREATMENT TO RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Abstract
A TOTAL OF 17 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROGRAM CHANGE ARE MADE IN THE AREAS OF PROGRAM PURPOSE AND PHILOSOPHY, BOARD AND AGENCY ADMINISTRATION, INTAKE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES STAFF, AND THE TREATMENT PROGRAM. SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE CLARIFICATION OF THE TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY, THE APPOINTING OF A SMALL COMMITTEE OF BOARD MEMBERS TO RELATE MORE DIRECTLY TO THE HOUSE PROGRAM, ACCEPTANCE OF THE HOUSE PARTY AS FULL MEMBERS OF THE TREATMENT TEAM, AND A REDUCTION IN THE NUMBER OF STAFF POSITIONS. AN INCREASED FOCUS ON INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS FOR EACH GIRL IS ALSO RECOMMENDED.
