THIS STUDY ADDRESSES THE DEGREE OF GENETIC VARIATION THAT IS EXPRESSED IN THE PROTEINS OF HUMAN SEMEN AND THE USEFULNESS OF THESE GENETIC MARKERS FOR GENETICALLY CLASSIFYING SEMEN FOUND IN RAPE INVESTIGATIONS.
Abstract
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT 29 OF 39 SURVEYED GENETIC LOCI IN SEMEN ARE GENETICALLY POLYMORPHIC. PROOF THAT A PARTICULAR LOCUS IS EXPRESSED IN SEMEN IS BASED ON CONCORDANCE OF PHENOTYPIC EXPRESSION IN SEMEN AND BLOOD, OTHER APPROPRIATE HUMAN TISSUE. THE GENETIC MARKERS IN SEMEN ARE GROUPED INTO THREE CATEGORIES BASED UPON THE LEVEL OF ACTIVITY AND THE QUANTITY OF SEMEN NEEDED TO TYPE THEM.
