This publication is a Solicitation Overview for the Prosecuting Cold Cases Using DNA Program

Abstract

This Bureau of Justice Assistance Solicitation Overview provides information about the FY 2024 Prosecuting Cold Cases Using DNA Program. Eligible applicants include state, county, city, or township governments; Native American tribal governments (federally recognized) and tribal organizations; special district governments; state and local prosecuting agencies; law enforcement agencies; state agencies. Successful candidates will receive funding, up to $500,000, to support prosecution of violent cold case crimes where a DNA profile from a suspect has been identified, investigative activities, and crime and forensic analysis that can lead to prosecution. Agencies that have not previously received BJA funding and convening or governing bodies that can apply on behalf of one or more entities are encouraged to apply.
