Abstract

The course is sponsored by the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence. It was originally presented at the 2015 Impression, Pattern and Trace Evidence Symposium (IPTES) under the Section on Forensic Science, Forensic Technology, Impression Pattern Evidence, Law Enforcement Training, and Trace Evidence. Forensic practitioners are the recommended audience for the course, which takes approximately 50 minutes to complete. A certificate is presented to those who complete the course. The course instructors are Jeffrey Dake, forensic chemist; Walter Rowe, a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS); Charles Clow, a member of the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners (AFTE); and Lesley Hammer, a forensic examiner with experience in latent print, footwear and tire track, and crime-scene disciplines.
