INFORMATION ON METHODS OF USING ELECTRONIC MACHINERY TO COMMIT FORGERY, AND ON WAYS TO BEGIN TO CURB IT.
Abstract
SEVERAL YEARS BACK ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WAS DEVELOPED THAT PERMITTED THE TRANSMISSION OF GRAPHIC DATA, NOT ONLY SIGNATURES, BUT ANY GRAPHIC DATA, OVER TELEPHONE LINES. EVENTUALLY, THE TRANSMISSION OF SIGNATURES FOR A VARIETY OF DOCUMENTS CAME INTO POPULAR USE. FAIRLY WIDESPREAD ABUSE OF THESE MACHINES INVOLVED FORGERY OF DOCTORS'S SIGNATURES ON DRUG PRESCRIPTIONS. THE AUTHOR EXPLAINS HOW THESE MACHINES OPERATE, AND WHO DISTRIBUTES THEM. LAWS, ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR, WILL HAVE TO BE ENACTED REGULATING THE USE OF THESE MACHINES TO CONTROL CRIMINAL ABUSE OF THEM....BDS
