This document establishes minimum performance requirements and methods of test for antennas that are used at base stations or other fixed sites by law enforcement agencies.

Abstract

Whereas the antennas under test must meet all the electrical and radiation performance specifications cited in this document at ambient conditions, the environmental performance specifications stated in the document should be selectively applied according to the anticipated operating environment of the antenna. This standard is a revision of NIJ Standard-0204.01, dated December 1981. This revision incorporates the latest recommended methods and procedures of industry standards related to communications antennas and environmental test procedures. The document first profiles frequency bands and presents definitions. A section on requirements encompasses minimum performance, user information, antenna power rating, radiation pattern, voltage standing wave ratio, and radiation hazard. A section on test methods addresses standard test conditions, instrumentation, scale model measurements, electrical and radiation performance tests, environmental test methods, and radiation hazard. 12 references
