The Global Reference Architecture (GRA), Service Specification Package (SSP, version 1.0) contains artifacts, samples, and schema, with documents related artifacts for each service interface; templates for the Service Description Document and the Service Interface Description Document are provided; schemas in the package represent code tables built to support the GRA, which are taken from specifications and publications created by other groups and organizations; and developers, architects, and service authors are encouraged to use the namespace when developing Global service specifications.
This Global Reference Architecture Service Specification Package (GRA SSP) is used to provide a consistent model for documenting GRA services; the document provides details regarding the components of a Service Specification as well as the conformance targets for Service Specifications and practical instructions on how to create SSPs. The schemas included in this Service Specification Package (SSP) represent code tables built to support the GRA, which are taken from specifications and publications created by other groups and organizations. The elements and attributes defined in this namespace were created using the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Naming and Design Rules (NDR). By using NIEM in this namespace, the GSC is able to maintain independence among the various specifications. The service specification metadata in this file contain information about the service capabilities and defined interfaces, and how those can be leveraged and invoked; metadata information is specified in the following files: in the Documentation file, a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of types and properties called Metadata.xls; and in the Service Specification Package (SSP) XML Schemas file, SSP metadata model called Metadata.xsd, and a sample XML file using SSP Metadata model is called Metadata.xml.
