THE REPORT PRESENTS THE FINAL EVALUATION OF A WORKSHOP HELD ON CORRECTIONAL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES AROUND THE COUNTRY.
Abstract
DATA WERE GATHERED FROM QUESTIONNAIRES COMPLETED BY WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS, MOST OF WHOM WERE EDUCATORS. THE AREAS WHICH WERE EVALUATED INCLUDED: BASELINE INFORMATION ON STUDENT POPULATIONS GATHERED PRIOR TO AND AFTER THE WORKSHOP; A DISCUSSION OF THE PARTICIPANTS' CURRICULUMS AS THEY EXISTED BEFORE THE WORKSHOP AND FOLLOWUP INFORMATION ON CURRICULUM CHANGES AFTER THE WORKSHOP; RESULTS OF ATTITUDE AND OPINION SCALES COMPLETED BY WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE CONFERENCE, DEALING WITH EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND PRACTICES OF CORRECTIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND THE POLICIES AND PRACTICES OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND CORRECTIONAL SYSTEMS; AND PARTICIPANTS' EVALUATION OF THE WORKSHOP CONTENT AND PROCESS, AND HOW THE WORKSHOP WAS USEFUL TO THEM IN THEIR OWN SITUATIONS. THE REPORT ALSO OFFERS A SUMMARY OF PROGRESS PARTICIPANTS HAVE MADE ON PROJECTS AT THEIR RESPECTIVE INSTITUTIONS. A PARTIAL SUMMARY OF THE PREWORKSHOP BACKGROUND QUESTIONNAIRE, A SUMMARY OF PARTICIPANT RESPONSES TO PRE AND POSTWORKSHOP QUESTIONNAIRES, AND A LIST OF PARTICIPANTS AND INSTITUTIONS REPRESENTED ARE APPENDED.
