IN 1974 THE STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF FLORIDA RECEIVED A GRANT TO PROVIDE CRIMINAL JUSTICE FACULTY WITH A PAID ONE QUARTER FIELD PLACEMENT WITH A LOCAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCY.
Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP WAS TO PROVIDE CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESEARCHERS AND TEACHERS WHO HAVE LIMITED AND/OR DATED FIELD EXPERIENCES WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEND AN ENTIRE QUARTER FREE FROM UNIVERSITY RESPONSIBILITIES, WORKING IN A CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCY. THIS ARTICLE REPORTS THE EXPERIENCES OF TWO FACULTY MEMBERS WHO INTERNED WITH THE BUREAU OF GROUP TREATMENT IN THE DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES - ONE IN A 'START' PROGRAM LOCATED IN A MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTE AND ONE IN A HALFWAY HOUSE FOR TEENAGE YOUTH.
