A MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTION IS PRESENTED OF THE MAJOR FORM OF DISCIPLINE - THE 'MODIFIED BEHAVIOR' MODIFICATION PROGRAM. THE AUTHOR MAINTAINS THAT INMATES WORK AT STEREOTYPED, TRADITIONALLY 'WOMEN'S' WORK, RECEIVE VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN LOW PAYING JOBS, HAVE LIMITED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, AND DUE TO THE REMOTE LOCATION OF THE PRISON, ARE ISOLATED FROM FAMILIES, AND CHILDREN AND WORK/RELEASE-STUDY/RELEASE OPPORTUNITIES.
