This report for the Senate Subcommittee on Federal Services, Post Office and Civil Service, Committee on Governmental Affairs presents data on budget authority and outlays by Federal agencies on various drug control strategies.
Abstract
This is a fact sheet prepared at the request of the chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Federal Services, Post Office and Civil Service, Committee on Governmental Affairs. The report summarizes the budget amounts authorized and actually spent by each Federal agency on various drug control strategies. Among the strategies are interdiction, investigation, State and local assistance, prosecution and drug abuse treatment. The report is divided into sections representing three time periods. First, data for the entire period 1981-1989 is presented. The second section covers 1986-1989 and the third section has data from 1989 only. Budgetary data was obtained from the Office of Management and Budget.
