These codebooks are for a 1970-84 study of case filings and terminations in Federal courts.
Abstract
Gathered from 100 court offices throughout the United States, the data focus on criminal terminations, appellate terminations, and appellate pending data. The termination data contain information on both filing and terminations, and the pending data contain only filing information. For the appellate data, the unit of analysis is a single case. The unit of analysis for criminal data is a single defendant.
