Abstract
THE BROAD AREAS WITH WHICH THIS PAMPHLET IS CONCERNED ARE THE ECOMONIC, HEALTH, AND SAFETY INTERESTS OF CONSUMERS, THE PROVISION OF INFORMATION AND ADVICE, AND COMPETITION POLICY, INCLUDING MONOPOLIES, MERGERS, AND THE REGULATION OF RESTRICTIVE TRADE AGREEMENTS. IT ALSO CONSIDERS THE WORK OF A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS, SOME RECEIVING SUPPORT FROM THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT AND SOME INDEPENDENT, WHICH OFFER GUIDANCE AND INFORMATION TO THE CONSUMER OR ACT TO PROTECT HIS INTERESTS.
