This report provides current information on the 67 Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities throughout the Nation as of March 31, 1991.
Abstract
The book opens with a history of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, followed by a formatted presentation of information on each Federal correctional facility. Information covers the name, address, telephone number, and fax number of the facility; security level; judicial district; capacity; staff complement; overview; housing; education; vocational training; UNICOR; medical services; religious services; psychological services; and accreditation status. The security level identifies the level assigned to the institution and whether that institution serves males or females. Rated capacity is the number of inmates the institution was designed to hold, and the population is the number of inmates held on March 31, 1991. The UNICOR category identifies any Federal Prison Industries operations at the facility and the number of inmates employed. Accreditation status indicates whether an institution is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Corrections. The book also provides information on staff training centers, new facility construction, Bureau of Prisons drug programs, education and literacy programs, community corrections, community corrections office locations, locations of Bureau of Prisons institutions, and a Bureau organization chart.
