DESCRIPTION OF THREE TECHNIQUES FOR AUTOMATIC SPEAKER IDENTIFICATION BASED ON AN INDIVIDUAL'S VOICE CHARACTERISTICS AND AN ANALYSIS OF THE SPEECH SIGNAL IN THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN.
Abstract
THE THREE TECHNIQUES ASSESSED ARE EXTRACTION OF VOICED CHARACTERISTICS FROM LONG AND SHORT TERM SPECTRAL AVERAGES, COMPARISONS OF SPECIFIC TYPES OF SOUNDS, AND EXAMINATION OF THE FORMANT STRUCTURE OF SOUNDS. TESTS USED TO DETERMINE THEIR RELIABILITY ARE DISCUSSED AS WELL AS THEIR APPLICATION IN AN ACTUAL INVESTIGATION OF A TELEPHONE BOMB THREAT.
