SPECIFIC DATA ARE SUPPLIED FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, EACH OF THE 50 STATE GOVERNMENTS, THE AGGREGATE LEVEL OF GOVERNMENT WITHIN EACH STATE, EACH OF THE 128 COUNTIES WITH A 1970 POPULATION OF 250,000 OR MORE AS WELL AS THE 153 CITIES WITH A 1970 POPULATION OF 100,000 OR MORE. DATA ARE SHOWN FOR THE 15 LARGEST STANDARD METROPOLITAN STATISTICAL AREAS.
