THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS EVALUATION WAS TO DETERMINE IF THE SESSION HAD ADDED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE PARTICIPANT'S UNDERSTANDING AND SKILL IN DECISION MAKING.
Abstract
A QUESTIONNAIRE WAS ADMINISTERED AT THE CLOSE OF THE CONFERENCE. FIFTY-SEVEN PARTICIPANTS RESPONDED. MEASURED WERE THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED BY THE PARTICIPANT, PARTICIPANT SATISFACTION WITH THE IDEAS AND TECHNIQUES PRESENTED, THE VALUE OF THESE IDEAS AND TECHNIQUES, AND WHETHER PARTICIPANTS THOUGHT WHAT THEY HAD LEARNED WOULD BE USEFUL IN THE FUTURE. ALMOST 90 PERCENT INDICATED GENERAL SATISFACTION WITH THE CONFERENCE. ABOUT TWO THIRDS RATED THE CONFERENCE AS PROVIDING RELATIVELY GREATER LEARNING THAN OTHER SIMILAR CONFERENCES, AND ONLY ABOUT ONE-TENTH OF THE PARTICIPANTS INDICATED THERE WAS LESS, NEGATIVE COMMENTS CITED THE LACK OF IMMEDIATE RELEVANCE OF THE MATERIAL. IN GENERAL, RESPONSES INDICATED THAT A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THE PARTICIPANTS WERE ABLE TO LEARN USEFUL CONCEPTS AND APPROACHES TO THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS.
