RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE CONCERNING IMPROVEMENTS IN THE FORMAT OF AND MATERIAL COVERED AT THE ANNUAL MEETING OF PENNSYLVANIA TRIAL JUDGES.
Abstract
SEVENTY PERCENT OF THE 164 PARTICIPATING JUDGES RESPONDED TO A QUESTIONNAIRE CONCERNING THEIR REACTIONS TO THE CONFERENCE. THE RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDE MORE INDIVUALIZED PROGRAM SELECTION, SMALL GROUP SEMINARS TO REPLACE LECTURES AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS, LONGER QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIODS, BETTER PREPARATION BY PARTICIPANTS, AND INCREASED USE OF VISUAL AND AUDIO AIDS. OTHER SUGGESTIONS INCLUDE THE USE OF NON-JUDICIAL SPEAKERS, A FOURTH DAY, PARTICIPATING JUDGES TO HELP CHOOSE CONFERENCE TOPICS, AND A SPECIFICATION OF SUBJECT MATTER TO BE COVERED AT THE NEXT CONFERENCE.
