DISCUSSION OF THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FOR EVALUATING A NEW CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM, PROJECT SURVIVAL.
Abstract
THREE MAJOR THEORETICAL ISSUES ARE DISCUSSED - THE AIMS, CRITERIA, AND DESIGN OF EVALUATIVE RESEARCH. FOLLOWING A DESCRIPTION OF THE METHODOLOGY PLANNED FOR THE PROJECT SURVIVAL RESEARCH PROGRAM, PRACTICAL DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED DURING THE STUDY ARE DISCUSSED. THE PAPER CONCLUDES WITH AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF CERTAIN LIMITATIONS OF CORRECTIONAL RESEARCH, BUT CLAIMS THAT A BROAD APPROACH TO EVALUATION CAN PROVIDE PERTINENT INFORMATION THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND THEORETICAL PROBLEMS.
