FORESEES A FUNDAMENTAL RESTRUCTURING OF CORRECTIONS UNDER NEW CONDITIONS SHAPING SOCIETY UNDER URBANISM, WHICH WILL COMBINE ELEMENTS OF THE REHABILITATION AND REINTEGRATION MODELS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR SEES A CURRENT TENDENCY TO CLING TO THE RESTRAINT MODEL FOR CORRECTIONS WHILE ESPOUSING A DESIRE FOR THE REHABILITATION MODEL. THE BASIC ELEMENTS IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL MODEL ARE SEEN TO BE THE NORMS WHICH GUIDE AND DISCIPLINE THE BEHAVIOR OF PARTICIPANTS THROUGH THE DELINEATION OF APPROPRIATE ROLES. BECAUSE THERE IS PRESENTLY MUCH EXPERIMENTATION OCCURRING IN SETTING THE ROLES OF STAFF AND CLIENTS IN VARIOUS SETTINGS, THE EMERGING ORGANIZATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IS CONSIDERED INDISTINCT AND AMBIGUOUS.
