PROJECT TO DEVELOP GUIDELINES TO AID INVESTIGATORS IN INITIAL AND FOLLOWUP INVESTIGATIONS AND TO DEVELOP AN EVALUATION METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTING CASES FOR FOLLOWUP.
Abstract
THIS VOLUME DISCUSSES THE RESULTS OF FIELD TESTING THE EXPERIMENTAL BURGLARY INVESTIGATIVE CHECKLIST AND CASE FOLLOWUP DECISION AID DEVELOPED DURING THE INITIAL TWO PHASES OF THE PROJECT. THE INVESTIGATIVE CHECKLIST WAS DESIGNED TO AID IN THE INITIAL CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION. THE CASE FOLLOWUP DECISION MODEL WAS DESIGNED TO AID THE REVIEWING OFFICER IN HIS DETERMINATION OF WHETHER A GIVEN CASE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED UP OR SUSPENDED, BASED UPON THE PROBABILITY OF THE CASE BEING CLEARED.
