Abstract
FIFTY-FOUR MALE SUBJECTS WERE SELECTED FROM INMATES OF THE FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION AT TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA. OF THE THREE GROUPS OF SUBJECTS, ONE WAS SHOWN ONLY NON-VIOLENT TELEVISION CONTENT, AND ANOTHER GROUP WAS SHOWN ONLY VIOLENT CONTENT. BOTH OF THESE GROUPS COMPLETED THE ATTITUDE MEASURE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EXPERIMENTAL SESSION, AND AFTER VIEWING EACH OF THE THREE SHOWS THAT COMPRISED THEIR PARTICULAR TREATMENT. A SECOND CONTROL GROUP WAS SHOWN ONLY VIOLENT CONTENT, BUT COMPLETED THE MEASURE OF OPINION FORM ONLY AFTER HAVING SEEN ALL THREE VIOLENT PROGRAMS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
