PLANNING MANUAL FOR LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS EMPHASIZING DIRECT INVOLVEMENT OF LEGAL SYSTEM AND JUSTICE AGENCY REPRESENTATIVES IN CLASSROOMS AND TEACHER-STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMUNITY.
Abstract
INFORMATION IS PRESENTED ON A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS CARRIED OUT BY THE CALIFORNIA-BASED CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS FOUNDATION AND OTHER GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES WORKING TO ENCOURAGE IMPROVED LEGAL EDUCATION IN THE SCHOOLS. THE PROGRAM MODELS DESCRIBED INCLUDE SEVERAL TYPES OF CONFERENCES, FIELD EXPERIENCE PROGRAMS, TEACHER IN-SERVICE TRAINING, BAR ASSOCIATION PROGRAMS, AND PROGRAMS UTILIZING LAW STUDENTS AS LAW TEACHERS. EITHER TOPICS COVERED ARE ORGANIZING COMMUNITY RESOURCE PROGRAMS, TEACHING MATERIALS AND METHODS, AND FUNDING SOURCES FOR PROGRAMS. APPENDED MATERIALS CONSIST OF DATA ON CONSULTING ASSISTANCE AND INFORMATION A CONTACT LIST OF PROJECTS OF SPECIAL MERIT, AND A LIST OF MATERIALS AVAILABLE FROM THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS FOUNDATION.
