The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation has continued to fund programs in tropical disease research, alternatives to incarceration, and urban youth employment during 1982.
Abstract
The Foundation is particularly concerned with controlling the tropical disease schistosomiasis (snail fever) and in developing alternatives to incarceration through community-based projects. It also seeks to develop and to improve work programs for the urban disadvantaged youth through private sector involvement, monitoring of government initiatives, and development of model work-education programs. The report describes Foundation grantmaking procedures and policies and lists grants awarded during the year and their amounts. Financial highlights are appended.
