THIS REPORT, BASED ON A STUDY BY THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SELECT COMMITTEE ON CRIME, DESCRIBES THE INCIDENCE OF SCHOOL DRUG ABUSE AND DISCUSSES VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALLEVIATING THE PROBLEM.
Abstract
DRUG ABUSE SURVEYS AND DRUG ARREST STATISTICS ARE CITED IN A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM'S MAGNITUDE. THE PATTERNS OF USE OF DIFFERENT DRUGS BY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE DISCUSSED. PROGRAMS FOR YOUNG USERS, INCLUDING DRUG EDUCATION AND RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS ARE DESCRIBED. THE DRUG INDUSTRY IS CRITICIZED FOR ITS LACK OF CONTROL OVER ITS PRODUCTS.
