THIS CHECKLIST WAS DESIGNED TO ANALYZE THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF SECURITY PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY VARIABLES THAT MAY INFLUENCE THE SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF IT.
Abstract
THE VARIABLES ARE DIVIDED INTO FOUR MAIN GROUPS. DETERMINISTIC VARIABLES INCLUDE ONLY THOSE THINGS THAT CAN BE ALTERED OR CHANGED THROUGH MANAGEMENT DECISIONS SUCH AS THE SECURITY FUNCTIONS OF PLANNING, ORGANIZING, STAFFING, DIRECTING, AND CONTROLLING YOUR PROGRAM. ENDOGENOUS (INTERNAL) VARIABLES EVALUATE THE ATTITUDES, MOTIVATION, INTERACTION, COMMUNICATION, AND DECISION MAKING OF ALL PERSONS INVOLVED IN SECURITY ACTIVITIES. EXOGENOUS (EXTERNAL) VARIABLES RELATE TO NON-SECURITY FACTORS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON SECURITY PROGRAMS. FINALLY, END-RESULT VARIABLES DEAL WITH THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE SECURITY PROGRAM.
