This report provides a 2-year overview of the Washington State Division of Juvenile Rehabilitation (DJR) during 1993-1994.
Abstract
Following a mission statement and functional organization chart, the report presents statistics on DJR expenditures and staffing, population growth, changes in populations served, and youth corrections client flow chart. The report discusses alternatives to commitment, community-based diagnostic programs, community programs, institutions, and special programs such as sex offender treatment, drug and alcohol treatment, mentally ill inmates, cultural diversity initiatives, employment and occupational services, and family intervention. Other topics covered include parole and other critical issues such as racial disproportionality and overcrowding.
