THIS SLIDE AND SYNCHRONIZED TAPE CASSETTE PROGRAM PROVIDES A REPORT ON THE COLLABORATIVE WORK OF YOUTH AGENCIES AND SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS IN FIVE REGIONS TO SERVE JUVENILE STATUS OFFENDERS.
Abstract
THE PRESENTATION DEPICTS THE KINDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE STATUS OFFENDERS AND THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE. IT DESCRIBES HOW THE NATIONAL AND LOCAL COLLABORATIONS STARTED, AND SHOWS HOW THE PROGRAMS ARE WORKING SUCCESSFULLY. STATUS OFFENDERS, MOTHERS, YOUTH WORKERS, VOLUNTEER LEADERS, COORDINATORS, AND A JUDGE EXPLAIN THE NEED FOR AND THE BENEFITS OF WORKING TO PROVIDE STATUS OFFENDERS WITH COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS AS ALTERNATIVES TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTIONS. THE PRESENTATION IS INTENDED FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE AGENCIES WORKING WITH YOUTH, WHICH WISH TO INCREASE THEIR MEMBERS' AWARENESS OF THE NEEDS OF STATUS OFFENDERS. INFORMATION PAMPHLETS, A GUIDE CONTAINING ADVICE ON PRESENTING THE PROGRAM, TERM DEFININTIONS, REFERRAL SOURCES, AND A TAPE TRANSCRIPT ARE PROVIDED.
