STUDY TO INVESTIGATE THE DIALECTICAL PRINCIPLE AS IT IS CONTINUOUSLY EXPRESSED THROUGH THE DIMENSIONS OF FAMILY AND TEACHER RELATIONSHIPS, SENTIMENTS, PERSONALITY, AND PREFERRED CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENTS.
Abstract
ACCORDING TO THIS PRINCIPLE, AN INDIVIDUAL IS DEFINED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT AND WILL SEEK SIMILAR SELF-DEFINITION IN EXTRAFAMILIAL RELATIONSHIPS. IN PURSUIT OF THIS GOAL, 200 SUBJECTS WERE UTILIZED. DELINQUENTS INCARCERATED IN STATE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS WERE COMPARED WITH NON-DELINQUENTS ACROSS THE VARIABLES OF PERSONALITY, INTRAFAMILIAL-EXTRAFAMILIAL RELATIONSHIPS, SENTIMENTS, AND EDUCATIONAL VALUE SYSTEMS. SEVERAL SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES WERE FOUND. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
