GUIDELINE FOR POLICE OFFICERS ENGAGED IN COMMUNITY SOCIAL ACTION PROGRAMS COVERS THE INTERVIEWER, THE CLIENT, AND THE INTERVIEW.
Abstract
THE PURPOSE AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE POLICE INTERROGATION AND INTERVIEW ARE CONTRASTED. THE OFFICER-INTERVIEWER IN A SOCIAL ACTION SITUATION IS SEEKING ENOUGH INFORMATION TO MAKE AN EVALUATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFERRING THE CLIENT TO SOMEONE CAPABLE OF DEALING WITH THE PROBLEM. IN THIS BOOKLET, THE AUTHOR EXAMINES THE INTERVIEWER'S IMAGE AND PERSONALITY, AND INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES AND PROBLEMS. ALSO DISCUSSED IS POLICEJUVENILE INTERACTION.
