This paper presents and describes the plans for testing a model focusing on the relationship between socioeconomic development and crime in Yugoslavia, with emphasis on the role of mediating factors social as social and personal factors, personality traits, attitudes, and values.
Abstract
The model's components were selected based on previous research and the feasibility of crime prevention interventions related to a particular component. The model assumes that socioeconomic development influences criminal behavior indirectly and that a strong relationship exists between an area's socioeconomic development and its crime rate. The hypotheses will be tested on two separate adult and juvenile offender populations. Data will be analyzed using a variety of descriptive and statistical methods. Figures
