PROPOSAL OUTLINING THE TESTING AND EVALUATION OF THE SIMULATION MODEL DEVELOPED FOR USE AS A PLANNING TOOL FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Abstract
THE PROPOSED MODEL WILL SUPPLY A CONSISTENT FRAMEWORK FOR RESEARCH IN THE EVALUATION OF ALTERNATIVE DISPATCH AND PATROL POLICIES, POLICE MEASURES OF EFFECTIVENESS, AND OVERALL POLICE PERFORMANCE INDICES. THE SIMULATION MODEL WILL BE MADE SUFFICIENTLY GENERAL SO IT CAN BE USED BY OTHER POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT RESEARCHERS. THE MODEL WILL BE CALIBRATED AND EVALUATED WITH DATA FROM THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (D.C.) POLICE DEPARTMENT. THIS REPORT CONTAINS THE PROJECT PLAN AND SUPPORTING DATA, A PROJECT PLAN SUMMARY, INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT STAFF, AND THE PROJECT BUDGET. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
