REPORT OFFERS SUGGESTIONS ON IMPROVING SPACE AND DESIGN CAPABILITIES OF THE COURT BUILDING IN DENVER.
Abstract
ALTHOUGH IT WAS BUILT IN 1932, THE DENVER CITY AND COUNTY BUILDING CAN BE ALTERED TO MEET THE DEMANDS OF TODAY. THIS STUDY FOUND THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS OF OVERCROWDING IN THE HALLWAYS BECAUSE THERE EXISTS NO ADEQUATE WAITING AREA, AND BECAUSE SMALLER COURTROOMS ARE USED FOR BUSY CALLS SUCH AS PRELIMINARY HEARINGS. ONLY ONE JURY DELIBERATION ROOM IS AVAILABLE, AND IT IS NOT EASILY ACCESSIBLE FROM MOST COURTROOMS. ALL OFFICES ARE GENERALLY CROWDED, AND PUBLIC TOILET FACILITIES ARE INADEQUATE. TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE NECESSARY EXPANSION, THE STUDY PROPOSES TAKING OVER THE SPACE OCCUPIED BY THE ELECTION COMMISSION, AND MOVING THE COUNTY AUDITORS OFFICE....BS
