PARTIAL EVALUATION OF A PROJECT DESIGNED TO SEEK SETTLEMENT OF CASES BROUGHT BEFORE THE FAMILY COURT WITHOUT FORMAL COURT ACTION THROUGH THE FACT-FINDING AND COUNSELING EFFORTS OF AN INTAKE STAFF.
Abstract
THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE STATED OBJECTIVES AND METHODS OF OPERATION OF THE PROJECT, AND GOES TO CITE SEVERAL REASONS WHY A COMPLETE EVALUATION WAS NOT POSSIBLE. WHILE THE PROJECT WAS SOMEWHAT EFFECTIVE IN REDUCING THE FAMILY COURT'S NUMBER OF FORMAL ACTIONS, OBSTACLES TO MAKING IT A COMPLETELY SMOOTH-FLOWING SUCCESS TOOK THE FORM OF INSUFFICIENT FUNDING, A LACK OF AWARENESS OF ALL THE STATED OBJECTIVES, AND POOR ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE COUNSELING STAFF AND THE PROJECT DIRECTOR, WHO WAS THE FAMILY COURT ADMINISTRATOR. THE REPORT PRESENTS THE STAFF'S CASE DISPOSITIONS AND THE FAMILY COURT RULES WITHIN WHICH THE STAFF HAD TO FUNCTION.
