This study provides a forecast for the Delaware Department of Correction's detention, jail, and prison populations.
Abstract
Between December 1988 and July 1989, Delaware experienced its single largest increase in its incarcerated population -- about 350 offenders. This dramatic increase was largely influenced by significant increases for drug and probation violation offenders being admitted to prison. Although the rate of increase was at an all time high, it is not expected to continue at a linear rate.
