COMBINATION OF LIGHTING AND PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES USEFUL IN INCREASING THE VISIBILITY OF INDENTED WRITINGS ON REFLECTIVE AND NON-REFLECTIVE SURFACES.
Abstract
WHEN PHOTOGRAPHING INDENTED WRITINGS ON REFLECTIVE SURFACES THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS PLACING THE BASIC PLANE SURFACE OF THE MEDIUM PARELLEL TO THE CAMERA FILM PLANE AND THE SOLE LIGHT SOURCE AS CLOSE TO RIGHT ANGLES TO THE MEDIUM SURFACE AS POSSIBLE. IN DEALING WITH EXTREMELY DULL SURFACES THE MEDIUM IS FIRST COVERED BY REPEATED APPLICATIONS OF A CLEAR PLASTIC SPRAY, THUS PRODUCING A REFLECTIVE SURFACE. THESE METHODS MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO RECORD INDENTED WRITINGS WHICH OTHERWISE MAY PERMANENTLY BE LOST. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
