Abstract
THE 23-WEEK STUDY WAS CONDUCTED BY PERSONNEL FROM THE INSTITUTE FOR MANPOWER MANAGEMENT ASSISTED BY TWO SWORN OFFICERS OF THE DAVENPORT POLICE FORCE. THE STUDY TEAM COLLECTED AND ANALYZED JOB TASK AND JOB REQUIREMENT DATA ON EIGHT FUNCTIONAL JOBS (BY RANK) AND SIX SPECIALIST JOBS AND PREPARED JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR THESE AND THREE ADDITIONAL JOBS AT THE DIVISION CHIEF LEVEL.
